From FoxNews.com…

NEW YORK — In a radical rethinking of what it means to go to school, states and districts nationwide are launching online public schools that let students from kindergarten to 12th grade take some — or all — of their classes from their bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens. Other states and districts are bringing students into brick-and-mortar schools for instruction that is largely computer-based and self-directed.

Thankfully, the spirit of sharing has been kept alive (and encouraged) by Creative Commons among other things. Creative Commons broken down to its basic core are a set of flexible copyright laws that allows creators and authors maintain ownership of their works while giving everyone else a chance to enjoy and share it.

Far too many PC users fail to properly back up their systems and their data. Because of that, I’ve often found myself in the position of having to tell family and friends that all of the family photos and financial information they’ve stored on their computer is completely lost. Examples of Linux desktops are Gnome, Unity, KDE, and XFCE.  This article explains the difference.

By Danny Stieben at MakeUseOf.com…

If you’ve been introduced to the world of Linux, it probably didn’t take too long to notice that it doesn’t have a single “face”. Linux can sport all kinds of desktop environments, or none at all. That alone is one of the great benefits of Linux among many more.
